Church des Artistes

Church des Artistes is a sensitively restored 19th-century Romanesque church in the Rondout neighborhood of Kingston, in New York's Hudson Valley — now a singular vacation home for up to 14 guests. The soaring Great Hall is anchored by a gas fireplace, a sixteen-foot harvest table and a Steinway grand piano. Five bedrooms (ten beds in all, including a Dutch sleeping cupboard and two daybeds) and five full bathrooms make it ideal for families, creative retreats and gatherings. A chef-friendly kitchen opens onto a private courtyard garden with a teak table that seats twelve, a Weber grill and a gas fire-pit for cool evenings. Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 and a projector round out a stay that pairs cathedral-scale architecture with everyday comfort. The home of artist Julie Hedrick and composer Peter Wetzler, the church is filled with contemporary art and antique furnishings throughout.
